I tried to start up my computer and got a flashing file with a question mark. So I held down the ⌥-key on boot and brought it into recovery-mode. After going through the different options I went to the disk utility and all I see is the grayed out SuperDrive and below there is disk0 and Mac OS X Base system. Leaving disk utility I went to reinstall Mac OS X. If you're trying on a Mac using Disk Utility to erase a hard drive and it won't unmount, giving you an error similar to Disk erase failed. https://coolhfile955.weebly.com/colossal-free-online.html. Couldn't unmount disk, then you may have to force an unmount through the terminal. Launch up Terminal.app(through /Applications/Utilities or through a Spotlight search). Then paste in the command.
I wanted to do a factory reset on my 2013 macbook pro ( currently on High sierra ), so I started up my laptop, held down command R, went into disk utility but when I went to erase macintosh HD, it says that's it's not mounted. Most of the commands are greyed out, except the erase one, but I didn't try to do that in the end because I didn't know what would happen. Cricut plugin update. I did a factory reset twice in the past on older mac os versions but it never appeared as not mounted. ( by the way my computer works fine, so the disk works ).
Anyone had this happen to them? What would happen if I erased it anyway?
