Now that Pokemon Home is out, you'll probably want to transfer Pokemon from your Game Boy, DS, 3DS, Switch, Pokemon Go, and Pokemon Bank to the new service. Well, it's just as complicated to. However, as with almost every iteration of the GTS, players often demand similarly unobtainable Pokemon in exchange for the Pokemon a player is seeking, making it still virtually impossible to.

Pokemon Home Impossible Trades List
Pokémon Home has re-implemented the GTS that was missing in Sword and Shield, which is a feature that allows players to offer up any of their Pokémon to the internet and ask for any Pokémon of their choosing in exchange. It didn't take long for the Pokémon Home version of this system to develop the same problem the older versions had – the Pokémon that people are requesting are absolutely ridiculous.
Pokemon Home Impossible Trades Game
Look, every single one of you 10 year olds out there are a major part of this problem. It's not that nobody wants your Litten, it's that nobody wants your Litten in exchange for their Ho-Oh. That's obvious. The fact that this continues to happen is just ridiculous. It's never been cute, it's never been funny. I can't even get anyone to trade my Galarian Ponyta for a Sirfetch'd. Think about the weight that your Ducklett holds when you're trying to get that Kyogre. If I can't get the duck knight, you aren't getting the dino whale.

The actual problem with this trend isn't just that it's kind of annoying. It clogs up the GTS. If you're actually looking for a legendary to trade with one of your own, it's impossible. My Lunala that I was looking to trade for a Solgaleo took a week to find a match. A perfectly reasonable trade that makes sense took a week to go through because the GTS is filled with trades that are completely unrealistic.
The reality of the situation is that this is never going to change. This is how the GTS has worked since it's inception back in the days of the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection. We're going to have to wade through hordes of demands of Xerneas and Groudon just to get a Psyduck until the end of time, it's just the sad truth. As useful of a tool the GTS is (such as working your way toward that awesome-colored Magearna), the problems with it persist. At least Game Freak removed the option to request mythical Pokémon. It's a small step in the right direction for a problem that needs to be solved. As of now, there doesn't seem to be a great way to do so.
